Nat2, Yes, that makes perfect sense, but I don't have a depth gauge wheel on the side. I think it would be a lot simpler if I did. The plow is an old Oliver 5 - 16. I think the number is 545. This is one of those things I just never thought of before, and it makes me feel sort of simple minded. I'm go'in out in about an hour and if it doesn't work like I want I'll just wrench on it in the field. I agree with your advice and I'll start out with it even with the back plowshear. Thanks, Paul
