Nat: The spring is indeed part of the fast, and not a tractor option. Most tractors that did not have a fast hitch from the factory also did not have the proper rockshaft for the spring to hook to. I say Avery still has something wrong with his hydraulics. I have three of these tractors and at different times over the years, each of them have been operated without the spring. I really can't see any difference in how much the hitch will lift at a given time. I think the benefit of the spring is long term use and effect on the hydraulic system. I have 60 CAD gallon sprayer, and with 600 lbs. of liquid and 200 lbs of sprayer, each of my tractors will pick that up if I give a lift on it. I can assure you the lift I give is no more than 50 lbs. That alone tells me he has not cured the hydraulic problem yet.
