If a tractor is used alot for PTO operation the inputshaft and perssure plate hub take a beating and after time they will fail brushoggen and sliage choppen puts a lot of strain on them as there is no lube to help out and when metal to metal works it wears . They will usualy last as long as the clutch and pressure plate . When that time comes it is wise to install a new input for the pto and all you can do at that time is put a littel grease or neverseeze on the splines and stuff it together .
