Hello! I'm new to this forum. I've been a Ford "N" and Jubilee owner for years, but recently bought a '49 Cub for my wife. This tractor has the "J4" magneto on it and I'm giving it a tune up. So far...not so bad. The part that has stuck in my craw, though, is the price of a new rotor. Those little buggers are EXpensive! My question(s) is this...do most Cub owners keep the J4? Was there a different setup offered in '49? (I should mention here that I prefer to keep things original on all my tractors). Are there still a lot of these J4's around? What years were they used? Any help would be much appreciated!
