The "wiggle" is between the worm gear and the sector gear. With hood off, and sector gear cover off, me standing by the front, I can turn the steering shaft back and forth ever so slightly without affecting the sector gear. It's as though the worm gear is worn, but it's new, as is the sector gear. Sitting on the seat, the steering wheel moves about 1". I know this doesn't sound like much wiggle, but it allows the shake to get going. Everything else is new; wheel bearings are tight, when off the ground the tires and wheels turn without any wobble. It's as though I need an "oversize" worm gear if such a thing existed. I've thought about the wheel balancing...wish I had one of those tire-spinner balancers used years ago.
