Run it on gasoline. I don't even know the tractor but I will still guarantee you that the tractor has already been running on gas for at least the last 30 years. Running an H on kerosene or distillate was a real hassle, the operating temperature had to be kept right up to the point that the engine was almost too hot. In addition to the adjustments on the manifold, the tractor also had radiator shutters, which may or may not still be in place, and if they are in place, they probably don't work. Stick with gasoline and you will be much happier.
