Like mentioned earlier, next step should probably be a compression test. All the new tune-up parts in the world won't make a worn-out engine run good.

Assuming that's ok, pull the plug wires one at a time to see if you can find which cylinder is missing.

Did you replace the condensor when you replaced the points?

There's not something restricting the air intake to the carb, is there? That wouldn't cause a definite pronounced miss, but it'd be worth checking.

There's not a valve that's adjusted too tight or sticking is there?(compression test and finding out which cyl. is missing will help ya diagnose that if there is)

If compression is ok, it really, without actually being there, sounds like something along the lines of point dwell problems....get that fixed so you know it's right...(cam on distributor shaft isn't worn out is it? check point gap at each spot)or better yet, spring for an electronic ignition kit and eliminate your point worries forever.
