Those numbers you quoted off the castings are part numbers, and narrow down your Cub to having been built between 1947 and 1979. In other words, they're not helpful. Look for codes cast into the castings with the format of "11 22 X." This indicates the date on which the casting was made. At least you'll know what year your the parts for your tractor were forged. The letter indicates the year, and 1953 is indicated by the letter "Y." They started over with A in 1955. Your engine block may or may not have been changed during the Cub's life. It may have been changed out for a newer block. It may have been changed out for an older block. The serial number MIGHT get you close, or it might lead you on a wild goose chase. The only sure way to find the serial number is to trace it back to the original owner and hope that the original owner is still alive and still has the original bill of sale. The serial number will be on the original bill of sale.
