replaced the hydraulic pump on the 400 finally. pretty straight forward. also replaced the screen in the reservoir. that was a good idea! that thing was plugged completely with crap. and where it wasnt plugged, it had rotted away letting everything through! started tractor, lots of noise from the control valve area, then that cleared up. fast hitch can now pick up the tractor. when pulling the remote valves to test operation, i broke a hose to a coupler. also the pressure side hose from the pump started to weep in 3 places! guess that stuff is pretty rotten inside! and the pump hose is the newest one on the tractor! i cant tell if it is supposed to be there or if it was added though. but at any rate it needs to be replaced. does anyone know if the gaskets are still available for the top side of the reservoir? IH dealer could not find a current number. -thanks karl f
