Allan: Your right, one season I planted corn on 3 sides of my dad's house. He always said there was not much closer to nature than corn growing on a hot humid night. He was 65 at the time so maybe a much younger person wouldn't have noticed. He even entertained guests on the patio listening to corn. For the non believers he had a stake in corn just 50' from patio, with a ribbon at end of each days growth. I forget the record day but believe it was in the 6 to 8 inch range. I was busy enough, I really didn't get into the details, but dad sure had a lot of fun with folks on this one. I know he had photos of that stake with the ribbons on it. They are probably in that box of family photos my mum gave me, that I've never taken the time to look through.
