The best way to do it or at least I think it is. Warm up the engine by running it about 30 minutes, you can have the hood off so you can get the valve cover off faster. Then when its still warm turn the engine over by hand and when a valve is pushed down adjust the valve that is closed and keep do each one that way. That way you know for sure that the valve you adjust is as closed as it can get and the adjust is correct. I.E. when an exhaust valve is open you adjust the intake and so on
