IF you have NO ideal adjust ment then there is something pluged . So pulling the carb off and soaking it in a good strong carb cleaner and making sure ALL passages are open sure will not hurt . As far as leaning them back with todays gas it is not the best idea as leaning back the mixture with some of the gas it will lean itself out when it burns and lean is mean . When ya have it tore down check everything and amke sure that the throttel shaft is not sloppy as this can cause a tuneing problem with tomuch air getting past the shaft.
