Put in carb kit or not?

I have a 300u, just changed plugs and it runs sweet. The old plugs were carboned up to the point of fowling a little. I adjusted the timing a little, and was going to adjust the carb. On the idle adjustment it does not make any difference if it is turned all the way in or all the way out.
Do I put in a carb kit or not? Remember, it is running very good (but I expect the mixture a little rich).
