C problems

I have a 1949 C with issues. I believe all of the issues are electical. The tractor has a 12 v generator, 6 volt battery (not hooked up), and a converted magneto. The tractor starts easy when jumped off, runs for about 45 minutes and dies. It will then restart easily and run 10-15 minutes and die again. Anyone have this same issue? I think it may be time for a rewire and full 12v conversion.
