Add on hydraulics

I have a super C with the factory cultivator lift system on it. I purchased one of those blocks that you put between the steel lines to and from the pump and the hydraulic system. Here is the questions that I have for you. Should I use an open center or closed center hydraulic valve for the loader that I am putting on? Should the flow be in series or what. I might be over thinking this but any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
