Light bulb just went on

It is for the inside of you engine. It mounts on the inside of the engine where the oil filter mount goes. On the inside of the motor there is a threaded whole where it screws into. I'm really not sure why it is there. I think it may have been for models equiped with a dipstick. My M doesn't have a dipstick but that tube was there. I'll bet money that's what it is. Any takers?
