The H is a heck of a lot easier on gasoline than the M, but the added HP and weight of the M makes it my choice. You will almost certainly hook onto something that the H can't handle. The H is much lighter in the front end than the M and it will lift much quicker when pulling heavy things. Also the M gives you the option of pulling it and standing a chance of finishing a pull in the top 6 or so. last , but not least I haul an M on a 7000 lb trailer with 84",s of fender to fender clearence with no problem at all. I am legal and my GMC 4 wheel drive has no problem pulling or stopping it. An M with the wheels reversed has an outside measurement of about 78"'s with 12.4 x 38 " tires.
