Ever since I scaped and blew off with air, then power washed my Super H, it won"t run right. Probably the first time it has been cleaned up in 50 years. I wrapped the distributor and wires in plastic and tried to avoid using water in that area. I have tried all the basics: Cleaned, checked & rechecked the distributor, points, cap, wires, plugs. Visually checked all and replaced one wire on the ingnition system. Drained and replaced the fuel, drained fuel line and carb. It starts (need to advance throttle way up) and runs fairly smooth at low idle, increase RPM and it becomes rough. Try to drive it and it really starts missing and sputtering. At a fast idle it will run rough, I pulled off one spark plug wire at a time and there was no change, no single plug made it run worse... Should I pull the carb and clean it? I think its something with the ignition, should I take the coil off and have it checked or maybe get new wires and a cap? The points and condensor are 6 to 7 years old (wires and cap too) but have less than 100 hrs on them. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
