I think I need a new voltage regulator on my SMTA. Most often when I start it the amp gauge needle doesn't move until I tap on the voltage regulator. Also, I notice there is some acid residue in the new battery box. Is that caused by the regulator starting to cook the battery? The tractor has been converted to 12 volt. Do I need a 12 volt regulator?(Don't know anything about tractor electrical systems.)Do I need to buy a regulator from a Case IH dealer?
