Michael, I changed and rebuilt the cylinder this last winter. Was not to bad though I did have some help. If I remember correctly I did not have to re adjust anything. I did that off the ctlinder with the connecting rods on them. If I can do it anyone can. I do belive I did take off the battery box, it is a little hard getting the end up by the rear wheel off but just have to get in right postion. Hope this helps JM
