Mickey: You have a very good handle on the pros and cons of both. I do have a Woods 60" belly mower on my Super A. I love the woods mower, but am not overly enthused with the Super A as the vehicle. Too high around ornimental trees with low hanging branches. And your right, it took me a couple of days to get those belts running true 3 years ago, and I've never done it a second time. I have thought of rear mounted mower, but there is a trade off with those as well on a Super A. If you mount it close to tractor, you increase angle of that pto shaft and if you move it away from tractor, shaft is better but lifting the mower becomes more difficult. I wish I had a better answer. My cousin told me that in the 1930s his dad's neighbor trained the family driving horse to mow the lawn, go behind barn for his constitutional and not eat the ornamentals or flowers. I would call that having it made, a horse will pick grass uniformly, and at this time in history, fueling the family buggie with grass clippings would have some merrit. Problem is, we wouldn't stay home long enough for the horse to do his job.
