I discovered today that the bendix on my (Grandad's) starter is stuck in the out position when I used the hand crank to turn the motor over and heard a ratcheting sound from the starter. I took the starter out of its case(?) and can't seem to find any way to get the bendix back down (because I don't know much about it). Is there any tricks to this, or does it need to be taken into the starter shop? I also noticed that the engine seemed very easy to turn over. I could BARELY feel the compression strokes (as compared to a C or SC). Is that normal for a Cub, or should I check the compression? Thank you for any help that y'all can give me (again). -- Martin
