Rustys right and you can also check for spark right after its dies on you. Best way to find a problem like your is to check little things when it happens and checking spark is east to do. Just pull a plug wire and hold it about a 1/4 inch from the block and turn the engine over with the ignition on. You should have a nice brite blue spark, if not then its probably the coil.
