The PTO on my 340 U is the earlier "planetary type", based upon photos in the manual. The newer ones were a "clutch type". I pulled the drain plug and drained the reservoir (from the looks of it probably the first time ever . . . ). The manual says to refill the planetary type with 2 quarts of SAE 10, while the clutch type calls for 1 pint of HyTran. A friend says I can also use HyTran or equivalent in the planetary type as well - my NAPA dealer doesn"t carry SAE 10. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks alot.
