They were noisy when new. The input bearing sometimes will quiet them down. You can take the pans off on the final and replace with 150 and flush the tranny with diesel by draining and running 2 gal for a bit then draining and replacing with 150wt. Mite see some change but it sure wont hurt to flush and refill with the heavier oil. The straight cut gears were noisy.
