farmall A gear wine niose

hi im new to tractors, im good at working on cars and motorcyclesbut never a tractor. anyways i started working on my grandpas A i got it running good and everything working all the gears work and everything but when its in high speed it make a winning noise in the tranny or rear end i dont know if thats the way they were of if i have a big problem i didnt check the gear oil but i dont know if that could be it. thanks
