Hi guys, just wanted to share something with you. Today, August 3, marks the 3rd anniversary of my son's death. At the age of 2 and 1/2 he was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. Up until that time, he was a normal, healthy boy, with normal development and growth. He was just short of 5 years old when he passed away three years ago. Today, my wife and I drove from northern IL to SE IA to visit the cemetery. He's buried in a little country cemetery just a few hundred yards from where I grew up and my familys 7 generation family farm. He was our only child, and a great little man. He loved old tractors (well, any tractors for that matter) as much as I do. In fact, on the memorial at the cemetery there's a picture etched in the stone of a 1943 JD B, taken from the real thing, the first tractor ever on our farm, and restored by myself and friends for my son. For the last year of his life, we'd get that old tractor out and drive it up and down the streets in our neighborhood. I'd never trade the smile I got from him when we'd fire her up and go for a spin. His memory is carried on in several ways in my life, tractor restoration is one of them. I'm restoring a Farmall B from our family farm at the present time. You guys on this forum have been a great resource and help to me in these restoration projects, and also very therapeutic for me. I just wanted to say thank you for helping me have an outlet for my grief. You folks are great people. After a long day of work, I faithfully log onto this site and check out the discussion and photo ads section. It helps me occupy my mind and enjoy a great hobby, and remember some of the great times I shared with my son in his short life. Thanks DJL
