123 rebuild ?

rebuilt 123 for a super c finished it last winter ,am installing now.I dismantled oil pump to check over looked ok installed on engine pumped in breakin oil through the pressure gauge port . now i have it installed and have cranked the engine over for a good amount of time and do not have pres. yet. do these pumps need to be primed???? or what.
