Best plan on taking them apart to see what the problem is. Something else to check in addition to the ramps and roller balls is whether the discs slide freely on the splined shaft. Last time I had problems with brake hang-up, that was the problem -- dirt, grease, etc. in the splines, plus the splines themselves had been chewed up some. Finally ended up taking a file to them to smooth them out.

Personally, I wouldn't lubricate the balls and ramps with anything with the possible exception of graphite -- anything sticky will just capture brake dust, etc. and eventually become more of a problem than a benefit.
