I have a Farmall A that will need a engine overhaul soon. I have seen kits advertised (Tisco) that offer both standard and stepped ( high compression). Can these high compression pistons be installed without any other engine modifications ? Is there a down side going to these stepped pistons ? The ad says that you go from a 3" to a 3 1/8" overbore. Does this mean that the block needs to be bored out to accept the new sleeves. One more question, are all of these rebuild kits pretty much of equal quality or are some better then others. Thanks for any help.
