Dang! Nailed faster than I could post it.After looking at my replacemnet top I fiqured out the smaller piece with the bolts, including the little round peice was part of the seat bracket underneath.I guess when the old man that Dad "loaned" it to went to take the seat off he brke the bolts and that has already broken loose at the welds underneath and fell in the tranny. When I flipped over the bandaged top, Icould see the outline of the rectangular peice and then noticed the hole in the rectangular peice was threaed the same as the seat bolts, which may have fell in there when I took the old seat support off to put on the hydraulic unit.( Which is also why Im changing this top,it wont sit down right with that big old bandaid on top)I must say that Im real pleased with the guts if this thing. There is some minor wear on the gears, but the bearings, with exception to the input shaft bearings, are all in real good shape.Hadrly any noticable wiggle, which is a plus when I get ready to paint it right.Cant make up my mind about a gasket for the tranny top though.Im thinking about just using sealer and letting it go for now and hope it doesnt leak, what dya think?
