Temperature Gauge on a Farmall Super A

My Father has had a Farmall Super A (1950) tractor for many years that he has worked his garden with. He's 85 and has cancer so I am trying to get his Super A rebuilt and painted so he can have a few months to enjoy it. I have never worked on a Farmall even though I have rebuilt several 2 cylinder John Deeres. When I began to take the Super A apart, I noticed that it did not have a temperature gauge. It only has an amp and oil gauge. Did the Super A's have a temperature gauge? If not, can you put one on and how would you do that? Thanks for your help. Robert Keen
