The manual for my 59 240 says that sae 20 is recommended. The genny and the starter are on the same schedule; every 6 months or 500 hours. For the generator, on the drive end fill the cup once; on the commutator end it varies from one to three drops depending on the type of generator. For the starter it says a few drops. Hope this helps.
