Thank you ejr and Allan...I appreciate your help, and am keeping my fingers crossed that the old 504 will get back in the hay fields again soon. But I know that "soon" is not really a part of the equation when fixing old tractors! This one has always been so dependable, and we use it a lot as it is indeed a very handy little tractor...I'd hate to see its demise! Thanks so much, Belinda
