Larry, you can do as Scotty suggested or else just momentarily flash jump a wire from the BAT terminal on the VR over to its ARM/GEN terminal and you should get a small spark. Assuming the wires in place n good from the ARM/GEN terminal on the VR to the gennys Arm post, thats doing the same thing electrically as Scotty suggested. I usually also first dead ground the gennys Field post to its case, but if alls well it ought to still polarize even without doing that. The genny needs a good frame/case ground to the tractor and the VR needs a good ground also you know. John T
