It's time you had a manual. Those are quite simple but you must have the proper tool to loosen them. There is two U shaped irons that clamp on the wheel, by use of two bolt going through beside wedges. When the wedge that loosens first comes up against clamp, that forces second wedge loose. Those wedges are tightened to 600 ft lbs when put on. Using hammers will only damage bearings, and never loosen wedge if tightened properly in the beginning.
