Jim: The question has been asked many times because it is a common problem. There is no adjustment however there are some easy things to check. First make sure the u-joint is tight. Sometimes the clamp on the front of the u-joint is sliding with a worn key in the keyway. As you turn the wheel, does it move forward and back? If so, the bearing may be loose in the steering gearbox. To get to the bearing, you have to pull the grill off. Then take the big nut off the front at the top of the gearbox. Check the bearing inside. If it is bad replacing it will help. While you have the grill off pull the top off the gearbox and see if the worm gear and sector gear have excessive backlash. If the gears are tight but the sector gear moves front to back as the steering wheel is wiggled the the top bolster bearing is bad. Then jack the tractor up and try to move the front wheels side to side. If they move much the lower bolster bearing is bad. Both teh upper and lower bolster bearings are a little tough to change so you have to decide if you can live with the looseness in the steering. Good luck!
