Not familiar with the arrangement of the 242D, but I had the pump on my 300U lose prime on a couple occasions. I removed the reservoir vent cover and shot the reservoir full of very low pressure (about 5 psi) air and it started pumping again. Possibly a cheap and easy thing to try before spending the big bucks.
