sounds like you are not getting the right amount of fuel to the carb from the tank. take the line loose from the carb and blow through it with compressed air. i had the same problem with my super a a couple of weeks ago, had a piece of rust stuck in the fuel bowl
i just took a small magnet and pulled the piece out of the tank after i blew it out
