old farm machinery and potatoes

Just finished diging my potatoes from my garden using an IH one row horse drawn digger. I had planted them last spring with a one row IH horse drawn planter. I plant about 200 ft every year and it takes longer to get the planter out of the barn than it does to do the planting. I got to thinking about how big a change this type of equipment had to be for farmers at that time. Hand planting and digging potatoes is a ton of work.
