Might as well take the head in and get it milled, & boiled out too. Have some new seats put in, some new valves, guides & maybe springs. Have them grind a new contour on the rockers where they contact the valve stem if it needs it. Since the pan's off, might stick in a new set of rod bearings. I did all this plus new mains on mine last year. I also put a new gasket in the oil pump, and hosed out some sludge that had accumulated in the block.
