Bob, I took your advice and switched the wires on the utility moving the positive terminal to the distributor. And it still runs! So things make a little more sense now. I betting before me someone did a rewire job and just connected things wrong. It now matches the other tractor. Just waiting for my kit. Im going to purchase the suggessted high output coil that petronix says to use. There are no numbers or marking on the old coil. Shows around 1.8 ohms between the - and + and around 10.8 from the - to the center rotor lead. Thanks for helping.
