Touchup gun is ok, but you will have to mask it all off or you will see overspray. An airbrush might be safer, I have never used one, thus can't comment. You can do a fairly decent job with a brush, but it won't be perfect. As to the fittings, I put true hydraulic fittings on my Super H, rather than the pipe fittings. They are plated and I did not paint them. Looks ok to me. Hand brushing may or may not be noticeable on the regular pipe fittings.
