Already left the battery on the charger a day before I put it on, so it was fully charged for the starting attempt. The cables are 0/1 gauge and are 2 years old. The starter is also 2 years old. The ignition is battery, and not a mag. We also took out the plugs and checked their condition and cleaned the gaps out. Battery is strong enough to make the starter crank the engine for 2 15 second attempts with no noticable loss of speed. I would guess it would spin the starter about 3/4 the speed of a 12 volt. The points seem to be okay from visual inspection, no pits or burning.
