Al, The Vernon County Fair sounds wonderful. Out here in California, the "rural" aspect of our county fair is quickly eroding away. The fairgrounds manager seems to have little interest in the agricultural beginnings of our fair. There were NO tractors shown by anyone, and there was little emphasis on entries of any kind (crops, food, canning, etc.). It appears that unless you are a vendor selling the usual fair crap or you have a race car to run circles around on the race tract, you need not apply! The really upsetting thing is that he wants all the antique tractors, wagons, engines, and related farm equipment off the grounds. Our local Historical Society is trying to find a home to store these items before they disappear.
