The very same thing happened to me with my 140. First, I replaced the pinion gear on the starter drive. Next, with a long file through the hole where the starter attaches, I filed smooth the edges of the damaged teeth on the flywheel to help the teeth from the drive engage the flywheel teeth more easily. I rotated the flywheel with a "jeweler's screwdriver" as I went around the ring gear. (I did not want to split the tractor.) Worked like a charm..... mike
