Hey guys can you give this the once over? Fella purchased a 300 and cant get it to move with out dieing. I suspect the TA is in small peices. What say you? This is a copy of emails so top is the last. Bottom is the 1st. Thanks. "Well. Lets see, The motor runs, Clutch works, Shifts, Brakes not stuck. I suspect the TA might be the problem and not just bad ramp and rollers ether. The planitary may have imploded. pop back onto my website and get into the Farmall 400 section. I documented the replacement of a TA there. http://ns2.genesis-technology.com/~kvp/
I will also copy this over to the guys at Yesterday Tractor discussion fourm. Some real good IH guys there and they know alot more than me. Just incase I am missing some thing. http://www.ytmag.com/farmall/wwwboard1.html Kelly > kelly, hey i appreciate the help. i don't know a whole lot about tractors > to let you know just bought a farm and don't know a whole lot but trying. > to answer your questions it runs fine anytime the clutch is in whether in > neutral or in gear but as soon as the clutch is let out it grind down > towards the clutch area. i have already taken the shifter off and all > gears are lined up and seem to be ok. it revs up and down ok the throttle > goes down about half way before it seems to work but i think a larger > spring was put in the govenor. pto works ok. tractor rolls when out of > gear ok telling me probably the brake is not stuck. the previous owner > had obviously worked on it some the t.a. is unhooked? i took the top > inspection plate off and don't know a whole lot about t. a. but looking > through the plate when it is forward their is a cover plate of sorts that > comes back when the t.a. is pulled back covers what lookes to be like a > smoth gear looking thing. but the gear looking thing is loose? i suspect > maybe it could be something to do with the t.a. maybe? > > Any Ideas? again thanks for the help i would take it for somebody to > look at but don't have alot of money trying to fix it myself with what > small bit i know. > Thanks, Joe > ---- Kelly Constenius wrote: >> Need a little more info. >> >> Does tractor run ok out of gear? >> >> Can you rev it up and down? >> >> PTO work? The Cletrac General GG and the BF Avery A - A Bit of History - by Mike Ballash. This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F.
