Hi all...I have been aquiring parts to put my H electrical system back to original 6 volt pos ground. I have a new original style wiring harness, new regulator,( mounts on rear fuel tank mount), a strong 6 volt battery, and a generator (1100501) that worked fine on the tractor it came off of. Heres the problem; after hooking it all up and polorizing the gen, started up and battery voltage went from 6.45 to 5.60, amp meter pegged on charge side, and the gen started getting hot after running for a few minutes. ...took gen and regulator to the local rebuild shop, they said gen was fine, regulator was bad. Got another new regulator, put it all back together and still the same thing, only now the ampmeter hunts back and forth a bit before it pegs on the charge side. I charged the battery up to 6.50 volts before I polorized it, after starting the voltage drops back down to 5.60 volts and the amp meter is pegged on the charge side. I am not an electrician.....what should I check next?? I have double checked all the connections, everything is hooked where the manual says it should be. any help is greatly appreciated.....Tom

We arrived hoping to meet up with a man we knew had over one
