I guess I must not be sane then. SAE30 is all I use in my tractors. That is what was recommended in them by IH. I ran 10w30 in my BN one time and when it warmed up the oil pressure gauge went down to almost nothing. It doesn't do that with 30 in it. I don't run my big tractors in the winter, but I do the garden tractors. I run SAE 30 in the garden tractors even in the winter. FWIW I work at a NAPA store and all our oil is acctually cheaper by the qt than it is by the 5 gallon bucket. At our store right now it is $1.79 a qt. 20 qts in a 5 gallon bucket = $35.80. That is for the NAPA brand made by Valvoline. Valvoline brand is more. I have also seen 3 or 4 price increases on all oil products this year so far.
