I priced 12 ga stranded wire for rewiring my trailer It was 29 cents/foot most places. At Homo Despot they would cut it to length for 42 cents/foot. Or I could get it in a 500 foot spool for about 14 cents, or 14 ga for about 9 cents. I decided to get the 14 guage, spend an extra 20 bucks over the 12 guage so I could color code my power and ground, and that I would then have enough to run a circuit for each axle for the brakes. Lights are LEDs so no problem there, and I'd guess 14 guage will do for one axle, it looks like it used speaker wire before we got it. I would've color coded all my circuits but I didn't want to buy 2500 feet of wire to do it.
